Youthworks is seeking a Catering Coordinator to join our Conference Centre team. Youthworks Conference Centres provide a place of temporary community for groups for relational and personal growth. They are intentional partners to schools, churches and like-minded community groups through networking, collaboration and facilitation of Word ministry. They provide outstanding venues in amazing locations and Christian hospitality. They believe their interactions with guests and each other are opportunities to promote and proclaim the gospel.

About the role

As a Catering Coordinator you will oversee and have responsibility for all catering operations, including but not limited to staffing, food service, menu planning and HACCP compliance; to ensure quality service from start to finish.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage high quality client-centered service that achieves a pleasant experience for clients and promotes Youthworks in a positive way

  • Menu planning and product development as required including but not limited to well-balanced menus, client group suitable menus, menu development within budgetary guidelines, and formulating and testing new menu items and recipes

  • Order and stock inventory (food and equipment) within budgetary limits to ensure that catering operations can happen effectively

You will need to demonstrate

A successful applicant will need to be:

  • a committed Christian who is active in their local church

  • experienced in cooking for large groups (50+ people)

  • available midweek and weekends

  • friendly, relatable and hospitable

  • strong in their work ethos

  • a self-starter who is focused on completing tasks and willing to contribute to improve systems

What we would really like you to have

Experience and familiarity with commercial kitchens and equipment

Additional information

This position provides an award wage and a team-oriented working environment. This permanent full time position is a 38 hour week, with rotating shifts Monday to Sunday based on client group occupancy. Early shifts generally start at 6.30am, with late shifts generally finishing at 7pm.
