Up to 40% of our young people are walking away from faith before they even leave home. That’s two in every five kids.

My former role as a local church rector ingrained in me the joy of sharing Christ, and now I carry on that joy in the work I do with the great team at Youthworks.

You see, with so many young people not truly encountering the life-changing message of Jesus, it’s so important to be sharing the gospel with them face-to-face each week. Encouraging them to keep going with Christ.

It’s such a privilege to ‘do life’ alongside people of all ages. Discipling church members into relationship with Jesus rather than empty religion. Encouraging honest conversations about their doubts and struggles.

And, while I may not be on the ground having these conversations in a pastoral capacity, I’m grateful to see how you’re enabling Youthworks to help grow effective youth and children’s ministries in hundreds of local churches and schools.

All across Sydney (and beyond!), you’re helping create safe places for our young people to shake the tree of the Christian faith and experience for themselves just how strong the roots of the gospel are (see Psalm 1 and Colossians 2:6–7).

This is the same Youthworks team that helps you and your church’s SRE teachers deliver the very best SRE curriculum to young people in our local schools.
