You're helping young people grow in Christ as you support SRE

For grandparents Peter and Leda Arnett, there’s not a minute or dollar to waste when ensuring that future generations will grow to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Perhaps your heart breaks like theirs when you see the current environment that young people are growing up in. Like the pressure from friends that comes up against young people today when pursuing faith. And the distractions that stem from screens and the media.

These are some of the factors that are impacting our young people’s ability to hear and know Jesus intimately.

For Peter, these factors influenced his decision to start teaching SRE in a local school after he retired, alongside his wife, Leda. He shares:

“We enjoyed being able to get to know the kids and teach them about God and Jesus from the Bible week-by-week. The Anglican church we attend has new ministers and a renewed emphasis on young people. The number of children attending the church declined a lot in recent years, but now we’re starting to grow the numbers of children and families coming to church.”

While they’re no longer able to teach SRE today, Leda and Peter still give generously to support the Youthworks ministry teams that are devoted to youth and children.

Peter continues, “I enjoy reading stories of what’s happening through Youthworks and it gives us great pleasure to know that, while we can’t do the work ourselves, we can still make a difference in the lives of young people for Christ.”

And this is the impact that you too are having by investing in young people. Through your support, you’re joining hands with other faithful people like Peter and Leda to reach and disciple many young people to follow Christ for life. Thank you!
