When Ethan and Lucy signed up for their school’s camp to learn about Australian history and politics in Canberra, they didn’t know they’d learn so much about Jesus as well.

What made that possible? Your support of Youthworks Christian Outdoor Education. Together, we’re partnering with schools, churches, and youth groups to provide a place where kids can enjoy outdoor adventures and explore the big questions in life.

Lucy shares what a difference it made when her school, Nowra Anglican College, joined forces with Youthworks to make their Year 6 Canberra trip so memorable.

Whilst supporting the school’s civics and citizenship curriculum, Youthworks guides also shared the gospel message through Bible studies, building relationships with the students, and fun activities. As Lucy explains:

We had a whole group of Bible studies where we would go into small groups and chat and have question time. We had a lot of questions, but Nathan from Youthworks explained that not every question can be answered from the Bible, but you can still have faith.

And Ethan shares:

“We asked all sorts of questions ... I asked Nathan, ‘Are Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit the same thing?’ I definitely know more about God and Jesus from camp.”

That’s the kind of incredible impact that you have on young lives through Youthworks Christian Outdoor Education. And just like you, the Youthworks team go the extra mile to provide children with godly leadership that shows Christ’s love in action.

Andrew Thompson is the Head of the Junior School at Nowra Anglican College and was deeply impressed by what he saw on this trip, especially “the effort Youthworks went to in training their own staff for the War Memorial visit.” War Memorial guides were not available on this trip and, “I was impressed that they went that extra step to say, ‘We can’t get the guides but we are willing to give this a go,’ which I thought was terrific.”

When asked if she would go again, Lucy smiled, “Of course! I would look forward to the interaction with the Bible studies and also having the activities to space out your day.”

Thank you for orienting young people like Lucy and Ethan to life in Christ through caring Youthworks leaders like Nathan and Christian Outdoor Education!
