Year 13 graduate Sam on mission in Fiji

Raised in a non-Christian family, Hannah longed for support to help her grow in her faith. Having seen how two young men at her church were transformed after completing Youthworks discipleship gap year program Year 13 she was eager to sign up.

“I hadn’t read the Bible much before Year 13, and so I was really blown away by how much you can read and understand in the Bible. I didn’t realise how the Bible fits together as one story. Seeing that unfold was mind-blowing.”

— Hannah, Year 13 graduate

Trained in personal evangelism, Hannah was then asked to share her testimony with a local church as part of Year 13’s mission trip to Fiji. Hannah says,

“I could see God working in me. I did my testimony in front of a few hundred Fijians who I had never met before ... Year 13 built my confidence. I knew I could share the gospel with others, just like everyone else was doing.”

Sam was excited to sign up for Year 13 and the mission trip but got even more than he expected:

“I didn’t expect the community and how tight it is. You have prayer groups with two or three others, and you get to share life with them, knowing it’s a safe place to do so.”

He shares how his life has been transformed through this year of discipleship:

“I’m shocked to see the difference. I read my Bible so much now. I have so much more faith, and I show it to others. And I love others so much more, through prayer and trying to encourage them.”

Thank you for equipping young people like Hannah and Sam to lead the next generation closer to Christ.
