You’re helping young people desire to love and know Jesus

Leigh

Your support has played an important part in helping local churches strengthen and grow by providing resources to ministers and leaders, helping them stay well equipped in their roles. And not only this, but you have also made an Effective Ministry Tool (EMT) available for all churches.

Youth minister, Leigh Zadro, at All Saints North Epping, had a Youthworks supervisor, Ed Springer, to help him to stay well equipped in his role as a minister. Leigh says:

“[Ed helped me] make decisions, set goals, give feedback. He has run training and connect me with other local youth ministers. This has helped bring clarity to my role, what I and my team do, and stay refreshed as we minister to the youth. Our youth has also been involved in LiT, which has had a huge impact on training young leaders in our church.”

Leigh has also used the Effective Ministry Tool and has seen the impact it has made on his ministry.  He says:

“I recently used the 'Youthworks Effective Ministry Tool', which helped me identify strength and growth areas for the ministry here. One growth area is partnering with parents and integrating young people into the broader church community.”

He has since noted the areas of growth for his church are…

“Partnering with parents and integrating young people into the broader church community (that's what the Effective Ministry Tool reported, and I agree),“ says Leigh.

Thanks to the generosity of Youthworks supporters, resources like the EMT are helping young people learn more about Christ and grow their love for him.

That support is helping churches all across Sydney to effectively reach young people. One example is Scott, a member of Leigh’s youth group who decided to invite his friend Elissa one week, which led to her wanting to know more about God. Leigh says:

“Scott who is a Christian guy in year 10, is one of the quieter guys, but always seems to be inviting friends along to youth group. One of his friends, Elissa, who was an atheist, was drawn to how kind Scott was at school, she said there was something about him, and when she found out he was a Christian, she was surprised.

So, when he invited her to youth group, she felt comfortable, and was keen to know what about Christianity had so impacted Scott. Elissa came along many times, and after a short-time, was unable to say no to God's love for her in Jesus! It's a common story at our youth group, that someone simply embodies Jesus' kindness, invites a friend and that friend hears the gospel and turns to Jesus.

Elissa is now keen to go on LiT that Scott raves about and that has impacted his walk with Jesus.”

Thank you for your investment into local churches to grow and strengthen in their ministries, so that young people may know the hope they can have in our saviour Jesus Christ.
