Your support is helping young people and their families explore the Christian faith through SRE!

When children walk into their Special Religious Education (SRE) classes, they’re welcomed into a safe environment in which they can ask the big questions of life – and begin to build a strong foundation of faith for their own lives.
Brooke*, a Sydney-based SRE teacher, is passionate about the experiences that students like James* are having in her class as they talk about God.
And you can see why when Brooke shares his story:
“James wasn’t engaged and would often sit at the back corner of the classroom playing with toys. But one week he made me a card saying sorry for playing with his toys in class. Over the next few weeks, he started raising his hand and asking to help me with the lessons. By week six he was sitting right at the front of the group. He even asked to pray as the weeks went on. I loved seeing him grow in his awareness that God loves him!”
You can see the beautiful transformation in James’ life as he grows in his understanding of who God is and who God made him to be. It’s truly exciting! With the help of your generous partnership, you have made it possible for children like James to explore the Christian faith through SRE.
Brooke also shared another inspiring story about a child’s mother who occasionally chatted with her after class. Brooke said:
“There was one mother at the school … I mentioned to her I was teaching SRE and shared what we learn and talk about. A few weeks later she requested her son to join and be in my class. She said her son really enjoys SRE and asked if there were any kids’ clubs around. I suggested some churches in the area and she got connected with one – it was amazing to see God at work in her life. Long after that, I ran into her at a church and she shared with me that she was going to be baptised! She invited me to watch her get baptised and it was such a joyful moment.”
What an encouraging story! That’s why I’m so thankful for your prayerful and financial investment today – not only are you helping children like James, but you are opening up a pathway for families to explore the Christian faith. Thank you for valuing young people and their faith journey!
