The Ministry Support Team provides advisory and coaching services to churches and their leaders regarding children’s and youth ministry.
About the role
The Advisor will be responsible for advocating for the importance of ministry to youth; supporting local church ministry, youth ministers and leveraging the ministry resources within the Western Region of the Sydney Anglican Diocese.
Provide advice and assistance to every church in the Western Region in how to run effective youth ministry for all ages, and how to incorporate youth ministry into the wider ministry of the church.
Lead and grow the development of youth minister networks.
Coach ministry workers to lead effective youth ministries.
Develop and implement the Ministry Survey tool.
Provide team training and cluster training for church teams working with youth.
Write articles on issues relating to ministry to youth.
You will need to demonstrate
A commitment to work with Youthworks’ vision and mission
A personal Christian faith and willingness to work within an Anglican organization
A commitment to participating in a local Christian church
Qualifications in Theology – preferably a Bachelor of Theology.
Experience as a Youth Minister in a Sydney Anglican Church – at least 5 years’ experience.
A capacity to build and create healthy workplace relationships.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a focus on networking to build partnerships and strategic alliances.
A strong work ethos with the ability to think strategically and effectively to implement plans.
A capacity for excellent Christian servant leadership and the ability to lead, manage and develop a team of people
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and to be flexible to reflect changes in priority with a strong attention to detail.
