The Ministry Support Team provides advisory and coaching services to churches and their leaders regarding children’s and youth ministry.

About the role

The High School SRE Advisor will be responsible for advocating for the importance of ministry to High School SRE students, supporting Anglican SRE Teachers and leveraging the ministry resources within diocese.  

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of support for Anglican High School SRE ministry within the diocese.

  • Manage local parish accountability for High School SRE teacher compliance

  • Mentor 10 Anglican High school teachers to enhance their ministry.

  • Communicate the value of High School SRE and its requirements to Parishes.

  • Equip and support rectors in their negotiations with schools about High school SRE.

  • Develop Youthworks SRE accreditation and development training.

  • Oversee the delivery of High School SRE training in the diocese.

You will need to demonstrate

  • Qualifications in Theology – preferably a Bachelor of Theology Education Qualifications.

  • Experience in teaching High School SRE – at least 4 years’ experience.

  • A capacity for excellent Christian servant leadership and the ability to lead, manage and develop a team of people.

  • An ability to develop strategies to improve quality, identify & solve problems, and engage with curriculum (pedagogy and development).

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and to be flexible to reflect changes in priority. 

  • An ability to work with a wide range of people to achieve effective outcomes.

  • Strong work ethos with the ability to think strategically and effectively to implement training and plans.
