Youthworks Christian Education Publications (CEP) is seeking a casual Sales Assistant to join our team. The CEP division publishes Christian educational content across a variety of platforms for young people and those serving young people, including but not limited to resources for SRE ministry, Christian studies in independent schools, and church ministries.  The CEP division also provides educational resources for the Sydney Diocese.

About the role

As the Sales Assistant you will support the CEP team by assisting with customer enquiries and sales procedures.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and friendly responses to all enquiries, regardless of delivery method, within designated timeframes

  • Receive sales calls and process orders accordingly

  • Identify opportunities to offer information and make product suggestions based on a

    customer’s needs

  • Maintain stock in the ‘bookshop’ and process sales from the bookshop

  • Accurately maintain and keep up to date customer records within the CRM database

  • Provide customers with statements and invoices

You will need to demonstrate

  • Demonstrated experience in administration

  • Phone etiquette and on point precision to accuracy

  • Proficiency in using a range of software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel,

    PowerPoint and databases

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and to be flexible to reflect changes in priority 

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing strong customer service  

  • A systematic and focused approach to tasks with a strong attention to detail

  • An ability to work with a wide range of staff to achieve effective outcomes

  • Strong work ethos

  • Strong customer focus

  • Good personal presentation

  • Personal Christian faith and willingness to work within an Anglican organisation

Desirable

  • Experience in sales, Administration and business-related qualifications are desirable but not essential.
